Photo One
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is line and shape. There is also depth and space as the column is in the foreground and the passage way moves to the background of the photo. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the color to make it black and white and highlight the contrast between light and shadow. The camera was set to a shallow depth of field. I selected this photo because of the angle that tilts backward and the texture on the concrete.

Photo Two
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent are leading lines and the large triangular shape created by the building. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the color of the photo and converted it to black and white. The camera was set to a shallow depth of field.
I chose this photo because of how the building goes upwards towards the sky and it looks like it could keep going. |
Photo Three
Photo Four |
This photo was taken for the landscape assignment.
What I like about this photo is the texture of the water and the color of the sky. My point of view was from above. The photo Follows the rule of thirds because the horizon is on the top third of the photo. The depth of field is a large depth of field. The ISO was set to 200 and the White Balance was Daylight. |
This photo was taken for the pattern and texture assignment.
What I like about this photo is the design of the metal and how it repeats. My point of view was from down low. The photo has strong repetition of the triangular negative shapes. The depth of field is a shallow depth of field. The ISO was set to 800 and the White Balance was fluorescent. |
Photo Five
As The World Turns |
I selected this photo because she is framed by dark shadows and her face is illuminated. Compositionally she is centered in the photo instead of following the rule of thirds. This photo was taken with studio lights. The light came from the left which shows her being lost in thought.

I selected this photo because of the unexpected blur as the globe spins. Compositionally, there is a repetition of circular shapes. The point of view of the photo is taken from above. To take this photo I had the camera set on a tripod and the shutter speed was set to slow and there is a large depth of field. |
